“Crossword Puzzles” is a free, ad-supported puzzle game published by SAV Apps. This policy explains what data is collected when you use the app, who collects it, why, and what control you have over it.

In short: We — SAV Apps — do not operate servers, and we neither collect nor receive your data. Your game progress is stored only on your device. However, the app uses Google services (advertising and analytics), and those services do collect data, including your advertising ID, which is treated as personal data under European privacy law.

1. Data stored on your device

The app saves the following in your device’s local storage only. This data is never sent to us or to anyone else, and we cannot access it. It is deleted entirely when you uninstall the app or clear its data:

2. Data collected by third parties

The app uses the following Google services, which collect data in accordance with their own policies:

Service Purpose Examples of data collected
Google AdMob Serving, measuring and fraud-proofing ads Advertising ID, IP address, device type and OS version, ad interactions
Google Analytics for Firebase Aggregated usage statistics used to improve the game Pseudonymous app instance ID, usage events, device model, approximate country
Google Play services Core functionality and crash reporting Log data, device information, date and time of use

Privacy policies for these services:

3. Advertising and consent

3.1 European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland

If you are located in these regions, a consent screen provided by Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) is shown the first time you launch the app. The legal basis for processing your data for advertising purposes is your consent, and no ad request is made before you have made your choice.

To change your choice or withdraw consent at any time: open the app and tap the “Privacy options” button (the shield icon) at the bottom of the main screen. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.

3.2 United States residents

Your state’s laws — such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and comparable statutes — may give you the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information for behavioural advertising. You can exercise this right inside the app through the “Privacy options” button, or by contacting us at the email address below. We do not receive any monetary payment in exchange for your data, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

3.3 Controlling your advertising ID on your device

Regardless of your choice inside the app, you can at any time go to your device settings:
Settings → Google → Ads — where you can reset your advertising ID or delete it permanently, and turn off ad personalisation system-wide.

4. Notifications

The app can send local notifications reminding you to continue playing after a period of inactivity. These notifications are scheduled on your device, never pass through any server, and contain no information about you. Notification permission is requested explicitly, and you may decline it or turn it off later in your system settings without affecting the game.

5. Log and crash data

If a fault occurs, log data may be collected through the third-party services listed above — such as your IP address, device model, OS version and time of use — in order to diagnose the problem and improve performance.

6. Links and external content

Ads may take you to websites or apps that we neither own nor control. We are not responsible for their content or practices, and we recommend reviewing the privacy policy of each of them.

7. Children’s privacy

This app is not directed to children; its target audience is adult users. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 (or under the applicable age in your country, which may be up to 16 in some European countries). If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided data through the app, please contact us at the email address below and we will take the necessary steps to delete it.

8. Data retention

Game data stored on your device remains for as long as the app is installed and is erased when you uninstall it or clear the app’s data. Data collected by Google is subject to the retention periods set out in its own policies.

9. Your rights

Depending on the laws that apply to you — including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) — you may have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, port it, or withdraw your consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in your country.

Because we hold no data on our own servers, most of these rights are exercised directly through your device settings and the “Privacy options” button inside the app, or through Google as the party that collects the data. We are happy to assist with any request you send us.

10. Data security

Because the app does not send your game data to any server of ours, that data stays on your device and is protected by your device’s own security. That said, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any update will be posted on this page and the “Last updated” date above will be revised, so we encourage you to review it periodically.
